M-Bus Gateway TCP-M80
The M-Bus (meter bus) is an established interface for automated meter reading. It is characterized above all by the simplicity of installation (simple two-wire system with power supply through the bus) and its high robustness. These are special properties that are of interest for use in industrial environments.
The M-Bus is defined in the EN 13757 standard. In addition to its own physics, it also specifies its own protocol. A translation is therefore necessary for connection to other systems. Modbus TCP is widely used as a communication standard in the automation environment. The EISBÄR TCP - M80 product (referred to below as EISBÄR TCP - MBUS for short) provides you with a gateway that connects the world of M-Bus with that of Modbus TCP, thus enabling the connection of meter data to our EisBär software.
The device supports the operation of 80 meters (standard loads) on the M-Bus side. A powerful protocol stack is implemented on the EISBÄR TCP - MBUS for standard-compliant data interpretation. This makes it possible to read all meters available on the market and interpret their data without any further configuration effort. The data can thus be made available to other systems without any effort.
